After a career-best run in Paris, Fernando Gonzalez heads to Wimbledon in prime shape to improve on what has so far been a rather uninspiring record on grass.
The Chilean's quarter-final defeat by Roger Federer in 2005 remains his most notable performance at the All England Club, however 'Gonzo' has the attributes to deliver the odd shock as the tournament progresses.
The 28-year-old is widely known for having one of the most potent forehands on the circuit, however his failure to make the second week for the past two years is a clear indication that Wimbledon is still a Grand Slam which troubles him.
The Olympic silver medallist is a former Australian Open finalist and his semi-final appearance at Roland Garros was his third last-four performance in 2009 following eye-catching runs in both Barcelona and Rome.
However, one suspects that Gonzalez will still be relying on a favourable draw if he is to cause a shock.
